Immerse yourself in a relaxing and informative weekend of yin and restorative yoga!
On the Saturday we will develop our understanding of yin yoga for our own personal practice and to share with our students. We will learn about the meridians and the 5-element theory in relation to yin yoga from Rona Golsworthy, who is an experienced 5-elements acupuncturist and yoga teacher. We will also work on sequencing of yin postures and how we can adapt the posture and offer alternative variations for our students.
Everyone will have the chance to try out the postures in pair work and there will be plenty of time for questions. There will also be an optional homework assignment after the course has been completed.
On the Sunday we will focus on the deeply relaxing practice of restorative yoga. We will begin by experiencing the practice ourselves and we will go on to break down each pose, learning how to use props to support the body in each posture. We will also look at different ways to use the props for different people in a general class setting.
We will also discuss sequencing, length of time in the posture and other practicalities of teaching restorative yoga.
The course will give you the tools to deepen your own yin/restorative practice and to introduce a yin/restorative element to your general classes and with your 1-2-1 students. The course is suitable for anyone who has already completed their 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Course.
